Huawei really wants to venture into the US market, not only with its higher-end cell phone, but also with the Honor brand, which is also from this Chinese company, which specializes in cheap cell phones.
We had the opportunity to try for several days the new Honor 7X, a very cheap cell phone that has just arrived in the US market, and which comes with technology that could be reserved for high-end cell phones.
Design
The most remarkable in the design of the Huawei Honor 7X is that it has a design that feels very good in the hands. It is comfortable to hold, light and not very big. It is also very thin and you do not feel that it is going to slip from your hands.
If you are not a fan of the rear glass finish that is fashionable and that is a fingerprint magnet, you will like the matte finish of it. The material is metallic and the edges rounded. You can see two antenna lines up and down the back of the device, as well as two camera lenses protruding from the top of the device, and an easy-to-reach fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.

The unit we had in our hands was red, which was a special for Valentine's Day that Honor launched and we liked it very much. It is a very different color and it takes you out of the traditional blue and black gray colors of most phones.

A decent camera
The dual cameras are gradually becoming the standard of mobile telephony and are no longer reserved only for high-end phones. The fact that they excel is possibly what we like least about the design of the phone, but the important thing is that they work well.
Pressing the camera application, we find the same interface of Mate 10 Pro. You slide to the right and you get the modes for the camera and if you slide to the left, you will find the general menu of the application.

Huawei includes in its phones a skin for the Android operating system Nougat 7.1 called EMUI which is not bad but is barely in the EMUI 8.0 version. It comes with some pre-installed Huawei applications such as a compass, an application for voice recordings, among others. The Administration application will help you to scan your phone and make sure you do not have a virus and the theme management will allow you to choose themes for the phone's background and the general decoration of the user interface.
It has the characteristic of being able to split the screen to perform simultaneous tasks by pressing an application in an extended way and dragging it to the top of the phone.
